Morning Meditation in Nature

Maria Mitchell Association: Start your day off peacefully with Dan Souza, MMA’s Museum Manager, as we soak in the early morning sun at the State Forest. In addition to a guided mindfulness activity, participants will learn about the science behind mindfulness, and how regular encounters with nature can physically change our brain. Through short games and activities inspired by scientific trials on mindfulness, we will examine how intimate encounters with nature affect our brain and behavior.
This program is designed to be appropriate for ages 12 and up. Pre-registration required. In the case of inclement weather, programs will be cancelled and participants will be notified.
